Hey guys, welcome back. You might have noticed I’m jokingly running for President of the World Wide Web. I say why not? Haven’t seen an elected President, yet. Someone has to do it.
My friend, Michelle, seconded the nomination, Tana gave her support, so did Rose. Now I just need to be voted it.
Lots going on on the blog. Lots. If any of you follow me on facebook, you might have seen that on one day I spoke to people from all of the world. Love that. Wonderful. Kind of scary. I had one friend who’s had robbers at their house on Easter Sunday with two people wounded at gunpoint. That’s a new one to me. I didn’t know how to handle the information as I’m just a little blog over here, not the news. Prayers going out to them.
Later, I had a chat up with some friends online. We are trying to decide if the ipad is a valid purchase. My vote is yes. Considering I’m a teacher and you can read millions of books using the ipad with a backlight ~ it’s awesome. I’ve also been an Apple fan since 1986. I’m a push over for technology.
I had a meeting with one of my favorite students today who is a clothes designer, AnnaRita N. Her multi national corporation now is worldwide. Their showroom is 5,000 square meters. I was lost and speechless. I came home and took a nice long bath since fashion is all a different world than education.
Still, I remember the year or so I spent going over there. they are some of the nicest people I have come across, so down to earth. When I got married they not only showered me with gifts, they came to my wedding too ~ the happiest day of my life.
There are moments when my writing is on fire and I make myself laugh. Others where I question my sanity. I still love to write, however. Judging by the visitors who continue to drop in and read, something must be going right.
What is spring like in Italy?
Yesterday our Italian teacher called in sick so I had to sub for two hours. It was our first day back to school after the Easter break. The kids had no homework to correct and I wasn’t left any instructions as what to teach them. I decided to take them all into the park outside of the school. They loved it.
When or if you ever teach a class, you walk in the room and you know immediately if it is going to be a good class or not. You just get a certain feeling. This class is one of those classes. All of them are smart and sweet. When I walk in the all like to chant,
Julie, Julie, ca va, Julie?
I’m not French, but that’s what they say. All together, it’s quite sweet and endearing.
At the park, I let them rummage through my pencil case where the girls found clear nail polish. So while the boys played soccor, the girls and I had a chat and painted our nails.
One girl brought me daisies strung together. It was truly a sweet day. One girl got a HUGE ice cream that was on a cone, colored pink and white. It just looked like spring, just like youth. One girl gave a look that only teenagers know.
I think that’s one reason I love to be around kids, I feel like a kid myself.
The baseball jackets have arrived and my son’s team looks great in them. We start a new tournament tomorrow, practice later today.
Kisses to all of you for visiting. Oh, and if you remember the story about the scholarship for my 8th graders, we got three entries in and should know soon. I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks for reading. Have a great day. Leave a comment.

Lisa (sister) Even though you are my sister, before I cast my vote, I need to know where you stand on the issues.

Julie Angelos ヅ Lama Issues? What issues? OK. You probably got the first one. If you didn’t, I’ll reiterate it. Anyone who votes for me gets either candy or chocolate. Then, we all start to organize the spring dance. You and I know what that means, however, I do it ; ), and other issues. None on the plate right now, but I think candy, chocolate and a dance is a good start. Dance. Do people still say that? I’m losing voters.
Good luck with your sale!
Thanks for voting.

Lisa ~ Just like a typical politician. Skirting the real issues. We need to know how you feel about legalizing marijuana in California, and what you plan on doing about border crossings. Stuff like that.

Julie Angelos ヅ Lama Legalizing WHAT?! BORDER WHAT? Skirting WHAT! See why you should vote for me! Chocolate for everyone. Hands in the air if you want chocolate. Come on guys, I’m going up against THE blond. Help me out here Bruce.
Who cares about issues? I am just really happy you wrote about Spring in Italy. ah, music to my ears. If you were my teacher, I’d hug you. How fun and cool. I wish my kids had a teacher like you. I am so disgusted with our schools here in the states. We are actually considering homeschooling once again. I can’t wait to hear more about your son’s baseball team. Is baseball as popular there as soccer?
Hey Michelle!
Great to hear from you. Thanks again for the kind words.
School is the same around the world in my opinion. It’s very much like life, you get out of it what you put into it. It’s easy to get trapped in the idea that schools don’t work. It just takes a lot of communication.
I like to think it’s a triangle working together between schools, parents and kids. The more people work together, the better.
I thank you for the virtual hug. Here’s on right back atchya.
Jules
I bet those kids will remember that “class” for years to come! Fantastic!
And thanks for following both me and my husband on Twitter! Nice to see you there, too!
~T~
Yes. You are so right Picsie, hopefully they will remember the class. I seem to always want to just play. I don’t know if that makes for a good teacher or not. Someone has to teach History, glad it’s not me.
Julie
You are so busy in the Blogsphere and cyberspace world Julie!
lol Linda, thank you for the laugh. I just decided to make a blog. There you have it. Then I felt watched and thought, oh, I better start singing and dancing some bloggy tunes super fast.
My true love at this moment is my kids playing sports. We watched the sun set over the baseball field yesterday all having a good laugh and an ice cream. If that is not what life is all about, then I don’t know what is.
