Lists are helpful in terms of getting priorities straight and getting things done. Here is a nice way to organize them.

How to increase blog traffic – 10 tips and tricks from jbulie’s blog.

I'm learning lessons. Today and every day. 1. Be nice. 2. Be kind. 3. Set boundries. 4. Defend yourself if necessary. 5. Stay focused 6. Seek help when needed. Have a nice day friends. All is well.

If you want your blog or website to succeed, just love doing it. Easy.

I’m sharing with you what I’ve been doing over here to attract visitors and increase blog traffic.

Don’t believe the guys who say they get a million visitors a day. They are like kids in a candy shop, typing in numbers. Learn from doing first hand, and ask a blogger friend.

Here are the steps you can take to make your site grow.

1. Get to know your readers. Share.

Spend a lot of time looking at your stats feature and try to understand where your readers are coming from. A lot of my readers have become friends because I hound them on facebook. Thanks guys. A lot are new, welcome. I’ve also found having a stats counter installed helps.

I’ve learned that they come from all over the world and different backgrounds and ages.

ㄥ❀∨モ these great gift ideas.

2. Participate in comments and conversations.

One of the best ways of inviting visitors to your site participate in conversations in the comment sections of blogs you like reading. Ever since I started my blog, I’ve learned a great deal in the comments section of articles.

3. Write good content.

My highest ranked day was when I wrote a piece about motivation. You can read it by clicking here.

4. Write from the heart.

Talk as if you were speaking to a few good friends. Write about what you care about people are going to be supportive.

5. Make it a goal.

I have also made it a goal of mine to have a lot of visitors so in my free time, I look read as many articles I can on the subject.

6. Use your real voice.

When I write, I like to picture I’m either standing infront of my peers and explaining things simply. Or, I try to imagine I’m writing my sister or mom and telling them how simple it is to make a blog grow.

Wishing you flowers today.

Wishing you flowers today.

7. Enjoy

You guys might have noticed how much I love to play around with my readers. I don’t think anything is more boring then being serious. I don’t take myself so seriously. In fact, I like to find aspects of life that are a little bit off, and hone in on them.

8. Add extra value, go the extra mile.

The more you give, the more you receive. It’s so easy to get great feedback ~ just give of yourself.

You are one person writing, right? Well, there are lots of people reading so the ratio is just immense. Give of yourself and you get back so much from some many people.

9. Be inspiring

You can be inspiring, funny wonderful, full of life. If you don’t believe in yourself, well then I do! You can do it.

We all have the ability to push ourselves to learn and make our lives better. You can do it. I believe in you.

10. Pay it forward.

Without my visitors, I’d just be here talking to my cat. She’s a good listener, however. To pay it forward it’s super simple. Just hit the tweet button if you have twitter, or share on facebook by clicking the link below.

Thanks for visiting. I appreciate your comments.

9 killer blog buzz words that add extra value to your writing. It’s chill.

I remember one day sitting at a trade show booth in Las Vegas with my awesomely successful and lovely sister. Clients would come up to us and ask if we had any number of objects from Velco to copies, to faxes to signs.

We’d look at each other with a knowing smile, pretend to bend down and change hats.

One hat said Designer, one said Electrician, on said Copy Girl. Today my hat says Blog Writer.

i shall be calm in this moment. ♡

i shall be calm in this moment. ♡

I think that flexibility in skills in today’s marketplace is absolutely key to being successful.

If you are wondering what any of that story has to do with the nine blogging buzz words is that I think using cool words can add value to whatever you are writing.

That is why I’m giving you nine FREE words that you can use with certainty to spice up your blog titles or just have some fun. Can you think of any?

By the way, the above example is ONLY a story. We didn’t actually change our hats.

Here are 9 rockstar blog words for dummies smart people.

1) Barbra Streisand She’s amazing. She’s everywhere. If you don’t quite get it, neither do I. I am almost sure it’s just playing around. I love people just like to say it. If you know why they do, please tell me. :)

2) Life Hacks I’ve noticed a lot of the seriously smart blogging blogs are using Life Hacks in a positive way. Life Hacks offer simple solutions to every day problems.

3) Wicked As old as this seems I’m still coming across Wicked in in well written headlines. It’s still works. At least on East Coast it was big when I was a wee tot. On the west coast we used a little bit more surf slang. You tell me, do people still use this? I try to use words that I say. I’d never say killer buzz words. It sure looks good in a title though, doesn’t it?

So I heard you been jammin’ down some gnarly tunes on your guitar?

That is just so wrong on so many levels. This gem was offered up last summer at a barbeque.

Be a free thinker.

4) Zen Whether it’s Zen Motorcycles or Zen Journey or Zen Habits people love anything that will make their lives more zen like. It’s an art. It conjurs up images of peace. Oaahhhhhmmmmmmm.

5) Simplicity I like any website that promises a simpler better life. I remember reading one day less is more. Or was it every day one thing less? My goal in my life is to get everything put away before I die. One thing less. Simple Life, Simple Pleasures, Simple simpleness. Simplify your life. It’s simple.

6) Social Media I don’t truly love this term. I bought a book at a garage sale in Pacific Palisades, California from a nice lady. I wanted to keep in touch with her so I asked her if she was on facebook. She said, no I don’t like social media. It was the first time I heard the word. Now it seems to be everywhere and growing. I still can’t use it in a sentence though.

Take the road less travelled.

7) Non Conformity If we are living parallel lives as avatars in another planet, I think we’d all be driving Prius’s and living in solar powered houses. The idea of non conformity offers you the possibility of changing your life for the better by choosing to do what you love.

Be a non conformist. Be a free thinker. Turn off the news. Get informed. Read. Stay informed. Make up your own mind.

~8)  Trending It seems like people say Trending and then whatever new thing is out. I don’t know because I’m not trending anything!

*9) Boomz Thanks to one of my super cool blog writer friends like Tiny Island who shares with us some Singaporean coolness from their beauty girl Ris Low. I love they they just have fun and play with language. I used to do this when I was a little girl. I wonder why I no longer do. That’s just Boomz {hands out}.

It’s time for reader input ~ what are your thoughts?

What do you think? I think these words are on their way out: Dude, Alternative, Rad, Stoked, Factoid, Gnarly, Social Media and SEO. Those are lame in my opinion.

I think these words are up and coming: Blog, Boomz, Fluffy, My Bad, Hiney, Smile and Nod, Shiny, happiness, writing and Talk to the Hand.

My list of 100.

September 8th, 2011, April 20th, 2011, reposting.

August 8th, 2010 Reposting my first blog entry. ~ J

This chick is so cool. She's thinking about you. ❀

I can see you. Just tell me everything is going to be okay. It will! ´¯`»¸¸.·☆

I’ll be perfectly honest, this is my first post and my first blog. I have been faithfully reading some excellent blog sites and came across a nice guy who recommended some list making to help with decisions. This is a challenge to help you get your thoughts straight. The way it works is this: you write a list called 100 things, then you write something that has been on your mind lately, that is a decision you have to make.

There are only two rules. First you must start and complete the list all with in one sitting. Next you must start all of your 100 entries with the number 100.

I’ll give you an example of one I just made. Good luck and have fun.

I called my list 100 reasons

    1. 100 new flowers

100 miracles I see now.

13 things I wish I knew before I started a blog.

1. That I would be so visible in all of the world wherever there is internet. For some reason I thought I was still speaking to my immediate friends.

Have a blessed day.

Have a blessed day.

2. That people could laugh at me if they wanted. Sometimes they do but I mostly get compliments, thank goodness.

3. That everyone uses their blogs however they want in different ways to represent their own style. Some blogs have comments, some have books, some have lists, some have videos. Each person can make their blog completely personalized.

4. That the blogger community is extremely supportive. If you need help with anything there are endless forums to help you answer your questions. Or, you can post a new one. I did and got tons of quick answers.

5. That words are important. And can save lives. Take for example:

Let’s eat Grandma! versus Let’s eat, Grandma!

Believe it or not, a lot of people find my blog by typing those words into google.

6. That some people make money with their blogs,

Smile. You're beautiful.

7. That it takes more time and dedication that I thought. But like most projects the more you put into it the more you get out of it.

8. That I ♥ blogging.

9. That 97 percent of people want to write a book.

10. What’s a widget. I thought a widget was that wooden triangle piece you slip under a door to hold it open. Boy was a surprised. I have since discovered that widgets are the spice of life. You can see all my widgets on my right column. They are things like being able to see your categories, most popular posts and facebook links.

Bike today. Yes please.

11. What’s a theme? Believe it or not, you get FREE themes. Themes are the overall looks of your site and you can choose whichever one suits you, just like a jacket.

You can even change as often as you want. I like mine for now but you never know. People love new looks. And it’s free.

12. That blogging would bring me increased confidence just like overcoming a fear.

14. That you would be reading this.

and just for fun, I’ll add another one. What would you add? What’s your number 14?

14. I wish I knew what social media was and how incredibly far reaching it is. I had seriously only heard the term social media at a garage sale buying a book.  Things you should look into are twitter, facebook and now pinterest.

I’m seriously in awe of the amount of times I see people in real life who have read my latest posts.

What about you? What are your favorite widgets? Why do you blog? Why don’t you blog? What are your favorite blogs and why?

As always, thanks for visiting and commenting. Nice to see you.

  1. Write down my goal in very specific terms.
  2. Practise visualisations daily.
  3. Stay positive and have an attitude of gratitude.
  4. Tell people about my goal repeatedly and publicly.
  5. Act as if I had already achieved it.
  6. Take massive action to make it happen.

My last day on earth. It’s all going to be okay.

It almost always seems impossible until it's done. ♡

I was thinking to myself. I said, Self, what if today was your last day here on earth?

So I thought, I know, I better make a list of things I need to do.

A list! For Goodness sakes. It’s my last day on earth and the only thing I can think of doing is making a list?

Okay I know it’s a morbid way to start a post but I think it’s good to think about our lives and what we have accomplished. I told one of my classes, If I were to die today please write on my grave, ‘She loved life.’ Can someone do that for me?

I’m happy to report I don’t think I’d change a single thing in my life. I feel complete. I feel lucky. I feel blessed. I feel like I’ve learned something along the way. I feel I am making, if not at least trying to make a positive contribution to my world.

500 friends on facebook! Ha! That’s a laugh.

I know that when new friends go on facebook and see that, they must be put off just a bit. How in the world could I possibly know 500 people? I don’t. I am a teacher. And a blog writer. This year I have 150 new students. I have a bunch of friends from high school too. I think there are also some friends I have met from travelling. If you’d like to become a fan, just click here.

I can count my closest friends on my hands and they know who they are.

My Bucket List

1. A clean house.

That’s probably about it. My house is spotless as I write because I have just cleaned for the last four hours. So does that mean I’m clear to go? My family is with me and laughing. I am healthy. What else can a girl want? For the moment I can’t think of much.

I’m a little bit concerned about children of divorced parents. My eldest son is nine and that is the time my dad left for another woman. I think that’s why I clean all of the time. Oh well. There could be worse consequences.

Children of Divorced Parents

I love the ballet.♡

I love the ballet.♡

A strange thing happened this week at school. A girl still doesn’t have her class book and we are almost two months into lessons. I have written the mom and asked the girl every time I see her what’s up.

Well, now she has a book because I made a couple of phone calls. Looks like mom lives here and dad lives there and she’s just trying to make it through the day. Stories like this break my heart. She’s 13. If you saw her you’d say she looks 17. She’s a pretty girl with long curly hair. She’s sweet and she’s polite. When we gave her her new book, her eyes lit up like a child. I bet she does well in my class. I just have a feeling.

Another one of my students is comes and goes as she pleases. She’s only 12. Again mom’s here and dad’s there. So noone really knows how she passes her days. Now her life is part of my life and as I teacher I question how far I should go to intervene? Call her parents? Go pick her up and bring her to school? I have made phone calls. I’m keeping an eye on her.

They say kids whose parents have divorced are victims. Well, I felt like a victim for years, but I no longer do. Do you know why? Because I have decided I don’t want to feel like a victim. So I don’t. Words in this case are just labels. It’s part of my life, it’s who I am. And it is in the past where it belongs.

Day to Day, Minute by Minute, Breath by Breath, Step by Step

Being a teacher. Talking to parents. Talking to students. Being a mom, making it through another day, trying to thrive. Being a wife, taking care of myself, my house, my being and my surroundings. Adding a little bit of something that makes life beautiful, like candles, like flowers, like pinecones and kids’ handmade toys on the table and window. Being polite. Learning. Writing. Teaching. Sharing. Just life.

I’ll tell you one thing is for sure. It’s a good life and I’m not going to pass my last day here making a list.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for stopping by. Have a nice day.

90 days of summer. 8 stay cool tips. •*¨*•✩

Here is exactly what is going on a heat wave.

Sahweet. •*¨*•✩

I’m reading about everyone’s lives around the globe, from India, Texas, California, Louisiana, Georgia, Nairobi, Naples, Acton, Canyon Country, Oregon, New Mexico, Spain, Singapore, Africa, Australia, Italy, Turkey, New York, Florida, San Diego, North Carolina and Tennessee who are reading my blog and most of my friends are reporting scorching temperatures.

How to deal with the heat?

Today I’m offering 8 tips to stay cool in the hot weather.

1) Ice Cream.

Like This!

I don’t know about you but I eat an ice cream a day. It’s good for your spirit and good for your soul. I try to eat natural ice creams that are hand made because they seem more genuine. I hear if you are concerned about your weight you could always go for a yoghurt or sorbet.

2) Water Park

Kids and adults love water parks. How fun are those?

3) Beach day.

Yesterday from noon to 6p it was hot. How hot was it? It was fry on egg on the cement hot. It was so hot, the squirrels were hiding their nuts in ice cream.

It was so hot the birds were asking for extra crushed ice in their bird baths.

It’s SO hot, that when you dive into the lake from the boat you have to go down a couple of feet until the water feels cool.

✿ ♫ ❀ Did someone say cocktail? ✩ ♥

4) Swim pool. Just dive right in.

5) Jump in the shower to cool off.

6) Take a drive to the mountains or higher altitudes.

7) Wet your hair I remember when I was a young kid at the Hume Lake, my mom would say just get your hair wet. It seemed to keep me cool for at least a half an hour.

*8) Sleep during the day, go out in the evening. Maybe you’ll see a shooting star.

Nothing makes me happier than throwing on light clothes and going about in the evening’s hot air. There’s a special magic about it that reminds me of my carefree youth.

Enjoy your summers. Hope you are well.

100 lists challenge writers, clear thoughts, inspire and motivate. Just like that.

Serving a fresh brewed pot of hot delicious blog content for your reading pleasure.

Here is my 2nd list of 100. My first was my first blog post in October. The idea is to get all of your thoughts on the page. There are only two rules. The first is to start all entries with the number 100. The 2nd is to write it all out in one sitting. I made it only to 80 then took a break before coming back to finish and edit.

Frills.

The reason this works is that it brainstorms to get all of your thoughts on the page. Then the benefit is that everyone can write a list and one day you can expand on one of your ideas. Or maybe someone else will. Also it provides a nice story of where you are in your life today.
